SUMMER JUNIOR NATIONAL 2025 RECAP:

We had a great Junior Nationals this Summer in Irvine, CA.  We placed 10th as a team overall.  Our Scarlet site had 12 swimmers representing Scarlet including: Daniel Choi, Gavin Del Fierro, Chloe Kim, Iris Kim, Jacob Kim, Stephanie Kim, Timothy Lee, Emma Pereira, Kayla Rodriguez, Akay Say, Joey Stauss and Kathleen Turano.

Several of these swimmers were first time qualifiers and gained valuable experience.  Others were veterans and we had multiple best times, 3 New Team Records, 2 NJ Swimming Records, several point scorers, and several Top 10 updates.

Joey Stauss placed 2nd in the 100 Fly (:53.16) breaking both our Team Record and the NJ Swimming 15/18 boys record.  Joey also placed 2nd in the 50 Fly (24.03).

Chloe Kim broke her own Team Record in the 400 IM (4:43.32) placing 3rd in the event, and also breaking her own NJ Swimming Record for 15-18 girls.  Chloe also placed 3rd in the 400 Free (4:15.54) and 4th place in the 1500 Freestyle (16:37.32) and 5th place in the 800 Free (8:42.39).  Immediately after the meet, Chloe flew out to Colorado Springs to the Olympic Training Center with Coach Ken to begin preparing for her 1500 Freestyle at the World Junior Championships later this month in Romania.

Kayla Rodriguez broke her own Team Record in the 100 Breaststroke (1:12.26) and earned herself D finals swims in both the 100 and 200 Breaststroke. She swam best times in both events.

Kathleen Turano placed 10th in the 1500 Freestyle (16:59.01) and 13th in the 800 Freestyle (8:51.43).
