New Jersey Wave Alumni and soon to be Harvard University Graduate Catherine Zagroba celebrated her Athletic / Swimming Career last Saturday night (4/14/12) at the Harvard Swimming Awards Banquet.    Catherine received the Dr. Mary Ellen Mangano Award.  The award honors the "Unsung Heroine" and is awarded to the person whose dedication, hard work, and overall pursuit of excellence emulates those of the late Dr. Mangano "80. 

Catherine was recognized for many accomplishments including:

·         Ivy League Champion in the 800 Free Relay 2009, 2011, & 2012.

·         First Team All-Ivy 2012:  800 Free Relay 7:15.92

·         Academic All Ivy.

·         Academic All American.

·         Team Record Holder in 800 Free Relay 7:13.71 (2009 Ivy League Championships)

·         Top time in the 200 Free for 2012:  1:48.59.

·         Harvard All Time Top 10 List in the following events:

·         #4: 200 Free:      1:48.59  2012.

·         #6: 500 Free:      4:47.72  2009.

·         #8: 1000 Free: 10:02.17  2011.

·         #6: 1650 Free: 16:38.64  2009.

Catherine is currently still training toward her Olympic Trial Cut in the 400 Free, of which she is less than 1 second from achieving.  She hopes to attend Olympic Trials in Omaha, Nebraska in late June.
